Welcome to the BWA news page, where you will find updates on our products and our continuous advancements in technology. Please check back regularly to ensure that you have current product information, including software and firmware updates.
Within six years of being on the market, the DiREX-Pro
product series is now one of the most successful mobile DVRs in our history. By providing free firmware updates
we have not only increased the functionality but also optimized overall video performance. A final version has
now been released providing the complete integration with the upcoming BWA Multi-Vision-2 video
management software (VMS). This realease includes greatly improved preventative HDD
health monitoring features.
The introduction of the successor to the multi-channel version is scheduled for the fall of this year.
It is already one of the most efficient video codecs to be ported with a newly developed, compact
embedded Linux hardware system which has high computation performance and unqualed low power consumption.
We are concentrating on the integration of extremely high-resolution video converters. Additionally,
our developers are focused on HD video and video analysis technologies. The
PTZ robot DiSCAN featured below is one of the trendsetting successes of our inventive skills –
currently the only one in its class of video surveillance products.
We look forward to an exciting second half of the year and wish all our customers a pleasant and
sunny summertime.
The PTZ robot with automatic 3D objective tracking in challenging lighting conditions
The PTZ DiSCAN robot is a compact speed
dome system that analyzes video content
from multiple highly sensitive panoramic cameras providing real time PTZ intruder tracking. Equipped with
an unobtrusive housing, it has been designed for continuous 24/7 operation under minimum street lighting.
An integrated emergency power supply is available as an option.
A detection radius of 50 to 120 meters can be achieved depending on the number and viewing angles
of the internal cameras in the system. This allows for the control of an area of as large as one
hectare (2.5 acres) with a single observation unit. The resolution of the visual coverage
corresponds to a CCTV camera distance of roughly three to five meters. The optical system
is preconfigured and ready for immediate deployment. It can also be modified to match local
conditions for providing more efficient in securing extended or asymmetrical areas through
varying camera angles.
An integrated H.264 encoder allows for capacity-saving FIFO video recording on up to two independent
NAS units (Network Attached Storage) while simultaneously recording on an optional internal mini-SDHC card.
With internal storage installed, full triplex DVR functionality via LAN is supported. An additional analog
video output allows for easy integration with CCTV equipment such as a spot monitors or DVRs.
Get the best out of your security camera with no hidden costs!
The compact DiREX-ONE network video encoders are
available with progressive scan or as a dual resolution version. Proprietary H.264+ approach with AME
(Advanced Motion Estimation) delivering up to 40% more video
compression efficiency than standard H.264-BP implementations.
The Power-over-Ethernet version with 12V output provides for compact PoE units (IEEE 802.3af) with no
additional power supply needed.
No any special IP-NVRs (network video recorders) are necessary - if required,
the recording of the video data can be performed on two network attached storage devices
(NAS) and on a directly connected BWA-UDOCK1 (hot-swappable storage system with rugged HDD cartridges) simultaneously.
In 2010 BWA moved its facilities to Muenster in Westphalia.
Here we are not only close to an exhibition centre location in the city of Essen but also
easily accessible for our customers. Our new "headquarters" provides more space
and has comfortable seminar rooms.
Odyssey™-Extreme (OdEX) –
most rugged HDD Video Cartridge
The dustproof encapsulated storage medium is extremely robust
and, among others is perfect suitable for automotive use. It provides numerious
advantages compared to conventional hard drives, as well as to commonly used flash SSDs.
Just in time for the IFSEC show in Birminhgam (UK)
we introduce a unique, swappable HDD memory system. It provides all the advantages,
which are expected from a hard disk data
medium: ultra-high-speed, high memory capacity and immediate
access to data. An extended input voltage range, power supply output
and USB screw locking feature allow for industrial use in many mobile
applications. The motor-driven media loading mechanism allows removing
the data carrier during operation (hot-pluggable).
